Precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel type 17-4PH – Stock standard
Product standard:
EN 10088-3
ASTM A564/A564M
Material standard:
W.Nr.1.4542
DIN EN X5CrNiCuNb16-4
AISI 630 (17-4PH); ASTM F-899
Material description:
ERGSTE® 1.4542 GG is a martensitic precipitation hardenable 16% chromium-nickel steel of type 17-4PH. It combines high strength and toughness with excellent corrosion resistance as well as good machinability. In conducting an appropriate heat treatment a maximum hardness of 44 HRC* can be achieved. The material is supplied from stock in solution heat treated (annealed) condition resp. aged to cond. H900.
* Maximum hardness achievable under ideal hardening conditions.
