Offshore, Oil & Gas


B.B.S. Halmstad AB deliver materials to withstand stresses in extreme environments. The materials are often tailor-made for its purpose from the melt, through processing and final inspection. We supply a wide range of materials from vaccum melted or ESR melted corrosion resistant high strength alloys to more common materials such as 316-grades, titanium alloys and precipitation hardening materials such as 15-5 PH, 17-4PH and 17-7PH.

HASTELLOY® C-22HS®

(UNS N07022)
An age hardenable corrosion-resistant, nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy which can obtain a strength approximately double that of other C-type alloys after heat treatment. The alloy is high resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion attack.

Applications: Agitators and blenders, shafting, fan blades and hubs, fasteners, springs, valves, dies, screws, wellhead parts, rings and gaskets.

Alloy 400

(2.4360 / UNS N04400)
Nickel-copper alloy: good tensile strength and toughness, high resistance to seawater, sulphuric, hydrochloric, hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids.

Applications: Valves, pumps, centrifuges and heat exchangers, pipework subjected to seawater.

Alloy K-500

(2.4375 / UNS N05500)
An age hardenable nickel-copper-aluminium alloy which combines corrosion resistance with high strength and hardness. Exhibits a good resistance against sour gas and chloride induced stress-corrosion cracking e.g. see water.

Applications: Pumps, valves and pipe systems especially in oil and gas industry.

Alloy 825

(2.4858 / UNS N08825)
Corrosion resistant nickel-iron-chromium alloy with good resistance to hot oxidizing and reducing acids.

Applications: Heat exchangers subjected to water with chloride content and other plant components which are subjected to sulphuric and phosphoric acid compounds.

Titan grad 5

(3.7165 / UNS R56400 / AMS 4911)
(3.7164 / AMS 4928)(WL)
Titanium α+β alloy: Outstanding specific strength. The mechanical properties can be influenced by heat treatment to controlled parameters. A higher specification level is available for aircraft applications (WL-Grade). A slight modification of the composition results in improved formability (ELI-Grade).

Applications: Structural aircraft components, CPI, rotation components, fastening elements, automotive technology, sonotrodes and medical engineering.

 

17-4 PH

(1.4542 / 1.4548 / UNS S17400)
A martensitic precipitation-hardening steel with high strength, good corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties up to 316°C.

Applications: Aerospace, offshore oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, paper, and food processing industry.

 

17-7 PH

(1.4568 / UNS S17700)
A precipitation-hardening stainless steel that provides high strength, hardness and good corrosion resistance in combination with excellent fatigue properties. I can be easily formed in the annealed condition and hardened to high strength level by simple heat treatments.

Applications: For components requiring good forming properties, high strength and corrosion resistance. Aerospace, offshore, oil and gas industry, for springs, washers, eyelets. Temperatures up to 316°C. 

DUPLEX 1.4460

(UNS S32900)
Is an austenitic-ferritic stainless steel with excellent resistance to pitting, crevice and stress corrosion. High strength and toughness in combination with excellent machinability.

Applications: Propeller shafts, pumps, valves, pistons, bolts and nuts.

DUPLEX 1.4462

(UNS S31803 / UNS S32205)
Austenitic-ferritic stainless steel, the duplex structure gives the metal good corrosion resistance in combination with a high strength.

Applications: Offshore structures and shipbuilding, chemical, petrochemical and food processing industry.

Alloy 625

(2.4856 / UNS N06625)
Corrosion-resistant nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with high mechanical properties – also at elevated temperatures. Good corrosion resistance in oxidizing and chloride containing media.

Applications: Components for nitric acid plants, exhaust gas cleaning systems, components used in seawater, membranes.

Alloy 718

(2.4668 / UNS N07718)
Age-hardenable nickel-chromium-iron alloy: high creep strength up to 700 °C. Specific properties can be achieved by the use of controlled heat treatment parameters.

Applications: Aircraft-, automotive- and gas turbine components, spring production. Components which are subjected to severe mechanical requirements under elevated temperatures or corrosive conditions.

HAYNES® 230® alloy

(2.4733 / UNS N06230)
Solid solution strengthened nickel based alloy with an excellent combination of favorable characteristics: thermal stability, oxidation resistance up to 1150 °C resistant to nitriding, carburization, damp conditions.

Applications: Semi-finished products for gas turbine engineering, furnace engineering, chemical plant, technology and apparatus engineering, petrochemical plants, incineration with thermal cycling characteristics.

Superduplex 1.4410

(UNS S32750 / AISI F53)
An austenitic-ferritic stainless steel with good general corrosion resistance in combination with high strength.

Applications: Especially developed for use in environments containling aggressive chlorides. Oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical industry. Valves, flanges, fittings couplings, seals, shafts and forgings. 

Superduplex 1.4501

(UNS S32760 / AISI F55)
An austenitic-ferritic stainless steel with high resistance to stress corrosion cracking in combination with high strength.

Applications: Pulp and paper, desalination plants, tanks, pressure vessels, shafts, seawater systems and heat exchangers. 

15-5 PH

(1.4545 / UNS S15500)
A martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel that provides high strength, good corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties up to 316°C.

Applications: Aerospace, chemical, petrochemical, food processing and paper industry.
